About Property InDepth
Property InDepth is an independent valuation and property consultancy company with a network of valuers throughout New Zealand.
Property InDepth specialises in the valuation of residential property and land. Using computerised on-site data collection tools and electronic reporting, the company produces website-style reports on your property that are both impressive and comprehensive, saving you time and money.
Property InDepth’s valuation reports are accepted by all major banks, lending institutions and insurance companies.
The company was founded in 2004 by Steve McNamara and Steve Tucker. With complementary business skills and extensive industry experience, they have developed an innovative business model that has resulted in Property InDepth being a preferred residential valuation company, with more specialist residential valuers than any other firm in New Zealand.
Property InDepth is represented throughout New Zealand by a team of 30+ experienced Registered Valuers.
Steve McNamara, Co-owner and Managing Director
Steve has a degree in Valuation and Farm Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Commerce (majoring in Urban Valuation and Property Management) from Lincoln University.
He has worked as a valuer in New Zealand and Australia, spending four years valuing real estate in South Australia where he was an associate member of the Australian Institute of Valuers.
Steve also spent two years in London’s merchant banking industry before returning to New Zealand to work as a Land and Buildings Valuer, gaining New Zealand registration.
In 2000, Steve joined Steve Tucker’s company Valuit Assets Appraisals Limited as a valuation and property business specialist, before establishing Property InDepth four years later.
Steve lives in Hawke’s Bay with his wife and two children on a lifestyle block. He is a keen family man, and in the weekends can be found cycling and ‘playing with property’.
Steve Tucker, Co-owner and Managing Director
Steve has been involved in the valuation business since leaving school, initially working for a leading Plant and Machinery Valuation company in Wellington as a trainee Valuer.
Steve later moved to Auckland and was challenged with the job of turning around a struggling machinery department. With a successful outcome, his passion for business was born and developed over the next ten years.
In 1999, Steve established Valuit Assets Appraisals Limited, a company specialising in depreciation apportionment. Valuit continues to be a successful business and has enabled Steve to explore new ventures including a franchise cleaning company and SystemiseIt, a software development company.
In 2003 Steve moved to Hawke’s Bay and in 2004, combining his business and valuation experience, founded Property InDepth with Steve McNamara.
Steve lives with his family in Havelock North and has a passion for family time, boating and fast cars.
